Pam Medlin - Beginning Strings Teacher

Pam graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BM in K-12 Music Education as a string specialist.  She is a member of the Music Educators National Conference and American String Teacher Association.  As a certified educator, Pam has taught in public and private schools in areas of general music, chorus, elementary through high school orchestras, and has 25 years experience in teaching children and adults in a studio situation.  She has served as a judge for the North Carolina All-State Orchestra Auditions and has performed professionally in many venues throughout the community. 

Pam is currently employed by Horizon Christian Academy in Cumming, as the Elementary Music Specialist, and the New School of Music in Buford, as piano and violin studio teacher. Pam says, “ I like to challenge my students and encourage good technique, while at the same time; have fun in creating music for lifelong enjoyment.”  

Karen Roberts – K-2 Chorus and Madrigal Singers

Karen Roberts graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College, with a major in Music Education/Certificate in Voice, and a Masters in Vocal Performance. While a graduate assistant, she founded the USC Vocal Pedagogy Program under the tutelage of Laury Christie. She studied conducting and music education with Dr. Arpad Darazs, a direct student of Zoltan Kodaly in Budapest and a nationally recognized authority of the Kodaly Method. (Kodaly and Orff devised two of the primary methods of music education in the 20th century.) Mrs. Roberts has worked with choirs of all shapes and sizes as a director/conductor, soloist, and clinician. She has also worked with chamber ensembles, orchestras, and Renaissance ensembles using period instruments. She loves languages and has performed works in English, French, German, Italian, Latin, Gaelic and Hungarian. She loves "bel canto" and greatly enjoys the wonder of a student who hears his or her unique God-given voice come alive as a result of good vocal methods and habits.

Evey Farley – Swing Kids

Many of you know Evey from her years participating in CFAF classes. She is now a Freshman attending Reinhardt College on Music Talent and Achievement Scholarships. Evey has studied violin since age 5, clarinet since 3rd grade, and vocal studies since 6th grade. She studied dance at the Morris Performing Arts Studio. Evey teaches private lessons and will serve as our substitute teacher for several of our other classes. She is an active member of CMENC, the Colligate chapter of MENC.
