Talent Show
Friday March 28
Tickets for the CFAF Talent Show go on sale next week. There are two kinds of tickets available - Show and Dinner $10
Balcony seats with no meal $5. We are trying to raise enough money for new (used) uniforms for the Marching Band. They are the most visible of our ensembles (marching in parades and at football games) and we are running out of jackets for future band members. We are also hoping to add a couple of instruments to our collection (a bass clarinet, and an upright bass) and we'd love to purchase a set of CFAF Bagpipes for our pipeband. Please help us out by selling tickets, purchasing tickets, asking friends to sponsor a whole table!
Spring Trip to Gatlinburg
Plans are well underway for our Spring choral trip. We currently have 29 people signed up to attend. I still need parent/adult chaperones and drivers - please let me know as soon as possible if you are able to participate. We have room for 17 additional students/adults.
Purchase a lollipop or two and help some of our students raise money to cover their trip!
2006-2007 Yearbooks
We still have a handful of last year's CFAF Yearbooks. These are full color - packed with memories and are a terrific deal for just $20. Pick yours up next week

CFAF students receive a huge discount if they choose to participate in the USA Martial Arts of Cumming TaeKwonDo classes. Classes meet from 5:30 - 6:30 and from 6:30 - 7:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can attend as many classes per week as you wish for one low monthly fee. Please contact Joni Beatenbough for more information joni_beatenbough@mindspring.com

Dear CFAF Singers and Swing Choir members,
Due to some unforeseen difficulties we will be leaving for Gatlinburg on April 2nd instead of the 3rd. We will come home on Friday evening instead of Saturday. Some of us will leave by noon on Wednesday to check-in, but others will drive up after school.
The events and costs remain the same, but our schedule will be slightly different. We will still be at the Dixie Stampede on Thursday night and will do Dollywood on Friday. We will head home after we leave Dollywood and arrive back at Chalcedon Presbyterian Church by about 11:30 pm.
Parents who drive and would like to come as chaperones (first come, first serve) will need to pay $160.
Parents who want to come as chaperones (and drivers) but do not want to attend Dollywood or Dixie Stampede will pay
$100 for the trip.
Parents who wish to make their own arrangements for the weekend but would still like to visit with us or watch the performance are welcome to participate in anything they wish!
I need to know very quickly if you are planning to go on our trip. I have spaces for 46 people - first come, first serve. The only drivers I have at this point are myself, Zeke and Mrs. Debbie Howard. Please let me know by this Thursday if you want me to reserve a spot for you!
I'm ordering lollipops tomorrow morning - if you want to sell some you must let me know before then.
A deposit of $50 is due on March 4th or March 6th.

Dress and Conduct:
Please remember our dress code - especially with warmer, spring weather later in the semester. No tank shirts or spaghetti straps - no short shorts or short skirts. Please remember that we are meeting in a church - and as Christians we bear the name of Christ. Our clothing, attitudes and relationships should be honoring to God.
Food and drink are not allowed in the Education Building. Gum is not allowed on the church campus.
Students are not permitted in the kitchen, the sanctuary (or front building), the basement, or the nursery without adult supervision.
Please pick up after yourself and take care of the building and grounds. This is our 4th year to use this wonderful facility - we need to respect and maintain the property.

This is a great opportunity for our students to receive input from a professional judge. It is a very "low-key" audition experience and the judges are friendly and their comments will be constructive. All students who receive a Superior or Excellent rating will receive an official GMEA medal at Awards Night. Some of our best performers will be chosen to perform on the Falany stage for our CFAF Spring Concert! This event is usually held fairly close by (last year it was at South Forsyth) so take advantage of this opportunity!
Middle School - High School (ensembles can include elementary students)
Solo Fee: $7.00 Ensemble Fee: $4.00
-
CFAF Spring Concert - May 9th at Reinhardt College (Falany Performing Arts Center)
There is a cost of at least $500 for us to perform at this fabulous facility. In order to cover costs I'm considering charging a $5 fee for each student performing - and then all ground floor seat tickets would be free (bring as many people as you can)! There may still be a charge for the balcony seats. I'm willing to listen to other ideas for covering the cost of the facility. Let me know what you think!

-
Kimono's for Sakura? (girls only - boys in TKD type outfits)
-
Medieval clothing for the Madrigals???
-
Something for the Scottish Dancers - Mrs. Minkoff may have some ideas for this
I have a lot of costume material, skirts, jumpsuits, shirts, leotards, vests, etc. I just lack the creativity needed to pull an outfit together!
Yearbook - We will need pictures for the 2007/2008 yearbook! There are still a few 2006/2007 yearbooks available. The cost is $20.

November 29, 2007
Cumming Christmas Parade - December 1, 2007
We must be in the parade "staging area" by 2:00 (talk to Mrs. Farley if you will need to arrive slightly later than that)
The staging area is just behind the First National Bank of Forsyth on Market Blvd (right in front of Provinos)
The parade will actually start at 3:30. We will march up the blvd. and turn in front of Lowe's. It would be great to park in the Lowe's lot and then it will be easy to head out after the parade. I am guessing we will be finished by 4:30.
If you can stay around for awhile you might want to attend the Northside Hospital "Celebration of Light" which begins around 5:00.
If you know you will need a ride to or from the parade area, please make arrangements beforehand.
We are still in the need of 2 people to carry our banner and many students (in festive clothing) to hand out candy to the crowd.
Please come out and support the band as we participate in the fun event!
